Recording our new adventure

This is such a monumentally huge time in our lives I thought it would be good to write about the experience. Certainly my subconscious is grappling with the idea of impending parenthood if my crazy dreams are anything to go by - the latest being last night's where among other things, my baby looked like an old man and pooed EVERYWHERE, not to mention the facts that there was pus coming out of his leg which I was told was normal AND the hospital moved him from the ward he was in to an unknown location in the building and seemed totally nonchalent when tellling me they did not know exactly where he was. Fun times. Oh and did I mention I fought twice in the dream with Chris because he was not looking after me well enough. Perhaps my subconscious is also telling me to turn into a Prima Donna and try and get Chris to run rings around me. Like I can ever see that happening! :)

Btw just because I described the baby as male above it does not mean we know the sex. We have no idea and want to save it as a lovely big surprise at the end. I'm almost 18 weeks now and dying to feel the 1st kicks. Our big scan is on April 3rd and I'm really looking forward to that. I want to know at this stage that everything is developing as it should be. I think it's a miracle to give birth to a healthy baby and I just pray this is the case for us.

Maybe someday I'll share this writing with the new life inside me. When they're older obviously! But I want to describe the 1st few moments I realised I was pregnant. What a joyous feeling! I did the test and refused to look at it. I left the bathroom and gave myself 5 minutes to wait. I'm sure I did not last that long. When I saw the 2 lines I bounced out of there and all around our apartment. I could not wait for Chris to come home. I knew he was on the bus as I called him twice to find out exactly where he was and blurted it out the minute he came in the door. Oh we laughed and smiled that evening - and of course went out to dinner to celebrate. Happy happy times.
